On April 25th we invite you to a guest performance titled "For Gaia" performed by Slovakian dancer Zuna Kozánková.

FOR GAIA / PRE GAIU
Dance: Zuna Vesan Kozánková
Music: Maok
Lights: Ján Čief, Piotr Michałowski
Photographs: Boris Verseghy, Zuna Vesan Kozánková

Zuna, a Slovak dancer and experienced improviser, meets Maok, a phenomenal musician and also a great improviser, to create a performance in which to pay tribute to the planet Earth and to tell her „thank you”. Both dance and music within the performance is fully improvised, drawing upon the instant potential of the moment and upon the overall atmosphere.

Zuna Vesan Kozánková

For Zuna, dance is the primary way of expressing herself, and one of the emanations of her taoist soul. She started to dance as a child, then went through an academic education at the Conservatory and Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Her studies in both Europe and Asia gave her an opportunity to experiment with greater openness and freedom. During the last few years her dance practice has been closely associated with the study of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, shiatsu, chi - kung and Taoism. She now draws upon the philosophical aspects of these studies in dance and personal life. The summer dance workshop " Dancing in the mountains" is also a very important element of her artistic practice. Zuna, together with her husband Milan, first established these workshops back in 2000. They have been running the workshops and teaching summer classes ever since then. In 2013, Zuna and Milan moved to the Eagle Mountains (Czech Republic), where they are currently creating PANGEA - an artistic and educational center.
