Iwo Vedral will direct "Divine Evenings" in Polish Dance Theatre!
Polish Dance Theatre chose the winning concept in the final stage of the nationwide competition called "Divine Evening" for the premiere of "The Year of Gods at the Polish Dance Theatre". It will be a performance titled "No more tears" directed by Iwo Vedral, choreographed by Krystyna Lama Szydłowska, with music by Dawid Dąbrowski, approaching seemingly incompatible worlds of religion and economics.
Iwo Vedral is a theatre director, a graduate of the Faculty of Polish Philology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Department of Theatre Studies at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw and the Drama Directing Department of the State Theatre School in Cracow. He cooperated, among others with the Old Theatre and the New Theatre in Cracow, the Dramatic Theatre in Wałbrzych, the Dramatic Theatre in Białystok and the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk. He directed Michał Kmiecik's "Death of an Employee" at the Polish Theatre in Poznań. For the performance of "Street" by Daniel Odlija in the New Theatre in Słupsk received the Special Award of the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship in 2016.
Vedral will cooperate with choreographer and performer Krystyna Lama Szydłowska, connected mainly with Poznań, whose work is focused on searching for alternative means of communication and relations with the viewer. The musical layer "No more tears" will be created by Dawid Dąbrowski, a theatre composer and music producer, dealing with improvised music and broadly understood electronics.
Premiere of "No more tears" will take place as part of the Year of the Gods, whose main idea is focused on divine matters, characters and symbolism. 2018 - The year of the gods is part of the Polish Dance Theatre program for the years 2016-2020 with idiom "Polski / wielkopolski" and is to glorify Polish art.
The premiere of "No more tears" will take place on June 16, 2018 at CK Zamek in Poznań.
