PREMIERE "45" | Malta Festival
The jubilee premiere of the Polish Dance Theater crowning the 45th artistic season of the company founded by Conrad Drzewiecki in 1973. The performance takes the form of an interactive journey with the participation of the public. Its "wandering" construction refers to the history of PTT, which since its inception has been a theatre without its own stage. The performance uses fragments of chronicles, reviews, descriptions and scientific publications of the Polish Dance Theater from 1973-2018.
Jacek Przybyłowicz is one of the most outstanding choreographers of his generation. The Polish Dance Theater in its program assumptions continues the achievements in which it supports and creates a dialogue between Polish contemporary artists with the most valuable achievements of Polish tradition. The invited creator is a graduate of the State Ballet School and the Academy of Music. Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw (ballet pedagogy). From 2014, he has been a member of the Program Council for Dance of the Institute of Music and Dance as well as a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Curator of the Central European Dance Program in Asia, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture. In the years 2009-2014, the director of the Ballet at the Grand Theater in Poznań. At that time, he was also the artistic curator of the Poznań Spring Ballet and co-creator of the educational cycle Terenca Area - Reinterpretations, co-organized by the Grand Theater in Poznań and the University of Adam Mickiewicz. Multiple scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. In the years 1987-1991, the dancer of the Grand Theater in Warsaw. In 1991 he left Poland, was dancing in Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, where he met Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Jiři Kyliàn, Emanuel Gat, Itzik Galili and Rami Beer. In the years 1994-2001 he appeared with the Kibbutz at the most prestigious festivals in over fifty countries. He appeared in the performance "Kyr" chor. by Ohad Naharin from Batscheva Dance Company. His choreographies are among others: "Verlorenheit and Orient Express" (2002), three performances at the Polish Dance Theater "Necklace Dove" (2003), "Barocco" at the invitation of the Biennale de la Dance in Lyon, "Nuembir" (2008), four ballets for the Polish National Ballet in Warsaw "Several short sequences" (2005), screened by Katarzyna Kozyra, "Alpha Kryonia Xe" (2006), Symphony No. 3 "Song of the Night" (2006) and "Six wings of angels" (2012), "Monochrome" (Kielce Dance Theater, 2014), "Infolia" (Teatr Wielki in Poznań, 2015). In 2013, he directed the opera "King of Oedipus" recorded by TV ARTE. Currently, most of his performances are performed abroad, among others in: Spain (Dantzaz Kompainia), Czech Republic (Prague Chamber Ballet), China (Beijing Dance LTDX) and Germany (Tanzcompagnie Giessen). In 2012 he was awarded the Bronze Medal "Meritorious Culture of Gloria Artis".
