Forefathers’copy_doc in conservatoire of the 21th century
Forefathers’copy_doc by the Polish Dance Theatre, directed by Tomasz Bazan will be presented twice - on the 14 and 15th of March in Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is the first and the one and only college in Great Britain in which both music and contemporary dance can be studied. Its unique programmatic formula redefines the notion of `conservatoire’ at threshold of the 21th century. It embraces creation for artists representing music and dance a common space for training, cooperation, scenic presentations and research. Drawing from cultural heritage of music and dance combined with innovative methods of education let the students experiment on the border of arts and work out novel artistic effects.
Forefathers’_copy.doc is a modern-day confrontation between the human being in search of the logos of infinite knowledge, on the one hand, and time and non-material world expressed through the language of futurological technologies. Above all, Forefathers’ Eve is a narrative about the body threatened with annihilation, and an attempt to put the unknown which contemporary culture expresses by searching for new human sciences and a deconstruction of ideas.
Production of spectacle was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland. Its presentation in London is supported by the Polish Cultural Institute.
