Balancing on the edge of classical narrative and Pure Form, this is a story about a young artist trying to silence metaphysical anxiety in a world in crisis. The luscious dialogues - quotations from the dramas Water Hen, Mother, Brain Tumor and Maciej Korbowa and Bellatrix - the clarity of gestures, the fever of lights and the richness of costumes, create a theatrical, visual composition reminiscent of Witkacy's grotesque paintings. A recurring stage figure is the circle as a metaphor for human fate. Like a TV reality show - nothing that happens is quite real.
The play received three awards during the Final of the VII Competition for the Staging of Old Works of Literature "Classics Alive" within the 46th edition of the Opole Theater Confrontations 2022. Equal individual awards went to Igor Gorzkowski for directing and Iwona Pasinska for choreography. Artists-dancers of the Polish Dance Theater were honored for teamwork.
