The show Polka plays with the ambiguity of the word - polka is a fast dance, polka is a musical form in even meter, Polka is a woman. The creators look at the various shades of femininity and the different life experiences of women - their hopes, dreams, fulfillments and unfulfillments. The plot structure is determined by the axis of a woman's life from birth to death. What is a Polish woman like? What does she do? What does she not do? What hasn't she managed to do? What is she waiting for?
The performance was presented as part of the 100th anniversary of Poland's regaining of independence during the 10th Days of the Art of Dance 2018, organized by the Grand Theater - National Opera and the Polish National Ballet.
