On September 9, at 5 pm, a series of author's evenings with Slawomir Pietras "PTT 50th Anniversary Characters" begins.

The well-known cultural luminary, co-founder of the Polish Dance Theater, from 1973 to 79 deputy director of PTT - Conrad Drzewiecki, excellent administrator of the Polish Dance Theater and manager of its achievements, will talk about People - Artists, but not only - without whom the oldest dance theater in Poland would not have become an icon of innovative trends in the art of Polish dance and theater.

This will be an invaluable opportunity to listen to the recollections and reflections of a Person who knows from autopsy and perfectly remembers the first - and even earlier - moments of the newly established cultural institution, operating since September 12, 1973, which was born in complicated, yet fascinating, political, environmental and human circumstances. An institution that was created to realize the authorial vision of Conrad Drzewiecki, an outstanding dancer and choreographer, who wanted to create dance forms that deviated from conventional ballet patterns, work with outstanding dancers - an ensemble of soloists, and reach the largest possible audience in Poland and abroad with the message that dance can be a self-sufficient, though not necessarily the only, carrier of meanings in a performance.

Tales of Slawomir.

The stories of Slawomir Pietras, who is well acquainted with the Guests he has invited to talk, will certainly be laced with personal recollections, full of anecdotes and stories "from behind the scenes", sparkling with humor and lightness. Through the prism of Slawomir Pietras' felicitous style, a true master of rhythm of language and choice of words, we will learn about the colorful, sometimes secret and previously untold, vivid stories that make up the legend of the Polish Dance Theater. We will take a closer look at the phenomena of personalities who have left their indelible mark in the history of the theater, in the form of roles, choreography and creations at various levels of theatrical life, we will look at the further development of their careers, as well as the impact that the Polish Dance Theater has had on their further professional fates.

We will look at the future development of their careers.

We will meet with Slawomir Pietras throughout the anniversary season, on Saturdays at 5 p.m. at the headquarters of the Polish Dance Theater at 8 S. Taczaka Street in Poznan.

.

The first two evenings will be dedicated to Conrad Drzewiecki and Teresa Kujawa, an outstanding dancer, choreographer and teacher of characteristic dance. In November, the Polish Dance Theater will welcome Emil Wesolowski, the first soloist in the Polish Dance Theater company at the time of Conrad Drzewiecki, and for many years head and soloist of the ballet of the Grand Theater - National Opera in Warsaw. At the dawn of December, we will welcome to PTT Pawel Chynowski, head of Programming and Organizing at the Polish National Ballet, who founded and ran the country's first ballet magazine "Dance" in 1974 at the Polish Dance Theater. Another guest of Slawomir Pietras will be Piotr Voelkel, the first technical manager of the Polish Dance Theater, today a well-known entrepreneur, creator and founder of the VOX capital group. We will then meet outstanding dancers, Roma Juszkat, since 1973 the first soloist of the Polish Dance Theater - Poznan Ballet, and Przemyslaw Sliwa, an outstanding dancer who went down in history as, among others, the performer of the part of Don Juan in the play "Epitaph for Don Juan" (1974), choreographed by Conrad Drzewiecki. In April, we will be visited by Krzysztof Pastor, an internationally renowned dancer and choreographer, currently director of the Polish National Ballet, who joined PTT in 1975 and, working with Conrad Drzewiecki for four years, established himself as one of the company's leading young artistic personalities. The series will conclude with Ewa Wycichowska, director of the Polish Dance Theater for 27 seasons, and - in June - Iwona Pasinska, current head of PTT.

Admission is free.

After the meeting, podcasts with recordings of each meeting will be available on the Polish Dance Theater website. However, we warmly invite you to be present live, to talk and interact in the space of the Small Studio of the Polish Dance Theater.

The audience is welcome to attend.
