The 5th International Dance Theater Festival "Boundaries of Nature - Boundaries of Culture" will begin on April 23, 2025 at the Polish Dance Theater in Poznan. This year's edition explores the relationship between humans and technology, reflecting on how innovations affect our corporeality, identity and perception of the world.

Are the boundaries between nature and culture real, or are they merely man-made constructs? How is technology changing our perception of ourselves and the surrounding reality? In the face of dynamic transformations, the festival invites us to experience dance together as a medium that bridges biological and digital existence.

The festival's program will consist of a number of events.

The festival program will include premieres, performances, workshops, debates and interactive performances. The event will open on April 23 with Quorum Dance Company (Greece) with the performance "Gate 57," exploring the theme of liminality and travel between realities. On April 24 we will see the Polish premiere of "Ophélie" by Propagande C Company (France), and on April 25 the group's dancers will also conduct a masterclass workshop.

On April 25, Mateusz Adamczyk (Poland) will present the performance "MoveGenius," exploring the relationship between movement and artificial intelligence. On the night of April 25-26, the event "Night Kinetic States #transsonika" will take place, integrating the art of dance with experimental sound and multimedia.

On April 26, the Holobiont collective (Poland) will invite the youngest audience to participate in the performance "My Tail and I" and the workshop "In the Tail," introducing children to the relationship between movement and nature. Another screening of the play "My Tail and I" will take place on the same day in the afternoon.

On April 27, the festival will expand its formula with the first-ever International Conference of Polish Dance Theater "Man - Technology", where invited guests will debate the development of dance and performance in the context of modern technological tools. On April 28, the program will be joined by the interactive performance "Algorithm of the Body," taking place as part of the Poznan Musical Spring and GN-GK 2025 festivals.

A special event will be the world premiere of the performance "MONOLIT," choreographed by Rainer Behr (Germany), a member of Pina Bausch's legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal, who will look at the tensions between the organic and synthetic dimensions of humanity in his new work. The screening of "Monolith" will take place on April 28 and 29, closing the festival, preceded by the traditional "National Dance" - a collective action of the polonaise in the urban space.

On April 29, on International Dance Day, we will traditionally announce the next edition of the International Competition "1 Page - 1 Look - 180 Seconds". The theme of the competition will be related to the festival's guiding idiom, inspiring participants to reflect on the role of technology in the art of movement and the search for new forms of dance narration.
