For the finale of the Fifth International Festival "1 page - 1 look-180 seconds" we settled the seventh edition of the competition of the same name, organized for seven years by the Polish Dance Theater.
In the literary category:
.Stefan Badorski
.For the work My Wind. My flight. My dance
A commendation for a rhythmic ballad written for a female-male double voice, transcending the barriers of body, age, expectations of others, as well as one's own assumptions about oneself.
. .
Maciej Kobuszewski
For the work Dar boży
.A commendation for an ironic and subversive story about a wedding with a twist, after which one can find oneself in a sad reality without applause, but with the "gift of God" on the screen.
.Kamila Szmigiel
.For the work Danse macabre
.A commendation for the courage of committed dance. For a politically sensitive voice admonishing women for whom dance is no longer a carefree prancing, but a difficult struggle against small everyday life and big politics. For believing that it is possible to dance "with someone other than death."
.Ilona Misztal
.Grand Prix
for workSelected items from the life of a yogini
.For agility of phrase, flexibility of style and elasticity of humor. The author approached the subject of the competition with gymnastic prowess: instead of chance and chance, we have elaborate figures - stylistic and rhetorical. In Ilona Misztal's case, humorous lightness is sometimes lined with something quite serious. A witty description of a yoga lesson becomes a pretext for a universal story about women's lives. The movement of the body, along with the entire life-emotional background, leads inevitably to its poignant negation - freezing.
. .In the visual arts category, honorable mentions were awarded to:
.Alicja Kruczkowska
.for a conceptual series of photographs that speak of dance, tradition, and the environment in which they were created, a thoughtful juxtaposition of tradition and modernity.
Marta Bystroń for her piece Hands
.for its focus on movement in a minimalist, primal version, i.e. hand gesture, eye movement, contained in the form of a very good painting.
.Maja Kotas for the pieceDissolution
.for its excellent composition and artistic capture of movement over time.
.
Julia Mostowik for her piece AYou What Are You Afraid Of?
.for expressing movement at its very dawn - in music, this photo would illustrate the first sound emerging from silence.
.Grand Prix
Irena Shatynska - Mytsyk for the piece Dancing in Eternity
.for a photographic collage with a cosmic force of expression, referring to the style of Richard Horowitz, but devoid of simple borrowings. Full of movement, the primordial one and the one we are able to express in dance while peeping at the world and the cosmos.
Full of movement. .
