The performance is inspired by a journey through the motifs of commemoration, memory and ephemerality born under the influence of the archaeological discoveries of Viminacium, especially the mausoleum - the burial place of the ancient Romans. The performance is an interpretation of the feelings surrounding the site and an interpretation of the history of the ancient Romans' handling of death. The archaeological heritage of the site is an exploration of the theme of memory as a valuable phenomenon. The interpretation of regional culture and the involvement of local communities becomes a starting point for reflection on one's own memories and the importance of memory in the creation of identity.
Place of presentation:
VIMINACIUM (Serbia), one of the most important ancient Roman cities in the Balkans. It served as a legionary military camp and administrative center of the province of Messiaen. The ruins include an amphitheater, thermae, necropolises and unique frescoes. Excavations have also uncovered sarcophagi and numerous artifacts of daily life.
