"Dancing Histor(y)ies" a large-scale international European project implemented with 13 partners from 11 European countries. The main objective of "Dancing Histor(y)ies" is to develop, test and evaluate a model for the revaluation of cultural heritage sites through dance and activities that involve the local community and stimulate territorial development. The overall goal is to promote and strengthen international dialogue and cooperation between different cultural organizations. The overall implementation of the project is planned for 36 months from 2023 to 2026.
Funded under the Creative Europe program, the project focuses on promoting archaeological sites through performing arts and aims to identify an innovative, effective and replicable model for improving cultural sites, actively involving local communities in artistic production and conscious use of heritage, as well as promoting the international circulation of European artists. A key task of the collaborating entities is to create a common and adaptable overall model to be disseminated and used at the European level, aiming to combine the tangible cultural heritage of the sites involved with the intangible heritage of the local communities and their histories, linked together through the creativity of dance.
."Dancing Histor(y)ies" includes thirteen institutions from eleven different European countries with extensive experience in managing cultural sites, performing arts, dance production, research and training, as well as designing, managing and evaluating EU-funded projects. Hence derives its operational goal, namely to create a European dialogue, which stems from the meeting of the southern Mediterranean area, where the cultural venues are located (Spain, Italy, Greece, Republic of Serbia) with northern, central and eastern Europe (Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria), where the artistic partners come from. The diverse nature of the organizations involved allows the project to benefit from different perspectives that contribute to improving and promoting international dialogue and cooperation between cultural organizations. The Meeting of Cultures will also be accompanied by technical partners (coming from countries in the two identified macro-areas: Portugal, Spain, Hungary and Cyprus) who will manage interdisciplinary processes aimed at value co-creation.
