"Bioland" addresses humanity's impact on the planet, combining themes of captivity/prison, industrialization and technological advances that will transform ecosystems and affect the functioning of living organisms around the world. Viewers are invited to think about their location in the simulation unfolding before them. We pose questions about the apparent boundary between the observer(s) and the participant(s). Blurring the boundaries between performance, experiment, exhibition and catwalk, we challenge anthropocentric assumptions using a fantastical and sometimes surreal lens. "Bioland" invites us to think about the interdependence between human evolution and the fragile balance of life for all creatures on the planet.
