During the 32nd edition of the International Theater Festival "Without Borders", the Polish Dance Theater will present the performance "Romeos&Julias unplagued. Traumstadt" choreographed by Yoshiko Waki and dramaturgy by Rolf Baumgart.
The Polish premiere of "Romeos&Julias. Traumstadt" took place on June 20 and 21, 2021 during the Malta Festival Poznań 2021. The German premiere - July 7 and 8, 2021 at the Uferstudios in Berlin. The performance is co-produced by the bodytalk artist collective - resident at Theater im Pumpenhaus in Münster.
.The production draws on Shakespeare's classic work while being firmly grounded in contemporary realities. It is a performance that crosses variously understood boundaries: a Polish-German co-production, an adaptation of a dramatic text for the theater of physical expression, and at the same time a reflection on the psychological and social effects of pandemonium and isolation.
Festival Without Borders is the flagship event of the Polish-Czech-Slovak Solidarity association, which originated from the democratic opposition. On the Czech side, the festival is co-organized by the Člověk na hranici association from Český Těšín.
As has been the case every year for 32 years, the theaters and performance halls of Cieszyn and Český Těšín are filled with performances by artists from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, meetings with artists, workshops and theater lessons for children and young people, concerts and exhibitions
