The National Dance will take place on the final day of the International Dance Theater Festival "Boundaries of Nature - Boundaries of Culture".

National Dancing will be held as part of the DanceMY campaign, organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance. It's an initiative that unites dance enthusiasts in a joint celebration of International Dance Day.

Both canonical performances and freestyle interpretations of the polonaise with a lot of improvisation and spontaneity are welcome.

Remember that International Dance Day was established in 1982 by the Dance Committee of the International Theater Institute (ITI-UNESCO). The date of the holiday was chosen to commemorate the baptism of the outstanding reformer of the art of dance, creator of the European ballet theater, French dancer and choreographer Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810).

On December 5, 2023, the polonaise was inscribed on UNESCO's World Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
