We are presenting Polish and Greater Poland culture during the Week of the Greater Poland Voivodeship. For its inauguration, in the open space in front of the Polish Pavilion, we will dance fragments of the sarabande from the play "Kurka Wodna albo urojenie", directed by Igor Gorzkowski and choreographed by Iwona Pasinska.
On September 24 and 25, on the Inner East Pop-Up Stage, EXPO 2025, we will show the Polish-Norwegian co-production "Out of the Hat," directed and choreographed by Jo Strømgren, one of the world's best-known Scandinavian choreographers, theater director, winner of many prestigious awards, resident choreographer at the Norwegian National Opera and Oslo Ballet.
"Out of the Hat" is a performance that crosses borders. Created in Poznań, it had its Poznań premiere on September 12, 2023, the day of the 50th anniversary of the Polish Dance Theater, and its world premiere at the Oslo National Opera. In 2023, it was also included in the program of the Days of Dance Art at the Grand Theater - National Opera in Warsaw. "A work that moves and captivates" (Skenekunst, Norway) is a journey into memory that invites reflection on one of the most universal human themes - the relationship with the past. In Osaka we will present this performance for the first time in Asia.
Remember that the World Expo is the largest and most prestigious event in the world, combining economic, promotional, cultural and tourism themes. Their scale is comparable to the Olympic Games or the World Cup.
The World EXPO Osaka, Kansai is being held in Japan from April 13 to October 13 on the artificial island of Yumeshima, built in the waters of Osaka Bay. The organizers anticipate 170 participants, including 161 countries and regions and nine international organizations. According to projections, the Exhibition will be visited by more than 28 million people.
The Polish Dance Theater is visiting the World EXPO for the second time. In 2021, it presented itself at the Polish Pavilion in Dubai, with the Polish Dance Theater's choreographic film project "Ta Mara."
