."Bread of the Earth" is a title that unites history, tradition, labor and creativity in one cohesive message.
In the picturesque mountain villages of Sardinia, near the ruins of Su Nuraxi in Barumini, women have been baking pane carasau for centuries, passing on handicraft knowledge and family baking techniques from generation to generation.
Thin, almost transparent bread, crisp as the summer air, is made to the rhythm of gestures repeated for hundreds of years. The women are the keepers of this ritual - they meet at dawn to mix flour, water and salt. Their work together includes laughter, conversation and silence. The mundane becomes an act of maintaining bonds between mothers, daughters, neighbors, entire generations of women, and a symbol of women's concern for heritage and cultural identity.
Dance as the main medium for expressing emotions becomes a bridge between everyday life and art, past and present.
The show goes back to the foundations of life that shape our culture, identity and community, reminding us that the simplest things can be the most important.
