The award ceremony took place today - May 13 - during the international conference entitled Renovation of Buildings. Challenges and Solutions organized by the Ministry of Development and Technology as part of Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union. The conference entitled Renovation of Buildings: Challenges and Solutions was an opportunity to meet representatives of public administration, the construction industry, local governments, non-governmental organizations and representatives of the world of science, during which examples of effective solutions and plans for the future of building renovation in Poland were presented.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Development and Technology as part of Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Recall that the implementation of the project primarily involved the revitalization of a historic building and the addition of a multifunctional studio room (the so-called Big Studio). The construction of the PTT headquarters received PLN 8 million in EU funding under the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Program 2014 - 2020, and the provincial government supported the project with nearly PLN 13 million. The entire investment cost more than PLN 21 million. The Polish Dance Theater has previously been recognized for the design of its own headquarters and its implementation. Among the projects submitted to the competition procedure in the area of cultural heritage protection within the framework of the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Program 2014+, it received the highest substantive evaluation from the Board of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. In 2022, it was nominated in the plebiscite for the best EU projects implemented in Greater Poland "Łączy nas WIELKOpolskie" in the category "Connecting us...architecture and culture". In the same year, the Polish Dance Theater received the "Wprost Eagles of the Wielkopolska Region" award in the "local government" category for its effective use of European funds and application of innovative techniques. The laudation emphasized that the moment of inauguration of its headquarters, crowning the project of adapting a 19th-century tenement house at 8 Taczaka Street in Poznań for the needs of the Polish Dance Theater, was a breakthrough in the activities of the theater, which is an ambassador of Wielkopolska culture, an almost legendary institution on the map of Poznań, spreading the art of dance around the world with great success.
