2019 was subordinated at the Polish Dance Theater to the idiom of the Year of the Wyklętych. We wanted to inspire the analysis of situations and fictional and historical characters, stigmatized for various reasons, and the accompanying emotions.
The epic tale of the cursing of the Earth by the human species - for the first time in the 2023 / 2024 season - will be presented on September 28 at 8 pm and September 29 at 5:30 pm - in the Large Studio of the Polish Dance Theater.
The performance is an elaborately staged story about the history of the Earth and the intertwined history of the Homo Sapiens species, which has done absolutely wonderful and unimaginably evil things during the 200,000 years of its presence on the planet. In an attempt to understand why we have become so carried away by hubris and the conviction of our own omnipotence, the creators of the show look at the concept of exclusion not only from the point of view of the excluded, but, above all, of those excluded. The audience will have the opportunity to take a particularly close look at the Man and his actions in the name of rights in the broadest sense. In what moment have we found ourselves today? Is it in the most appropriate one for our species? Do we still have time? Are we in the midst of the end of time?"
.The creators of the performance are the winners of the competition for the realization of the premiere at the Polish Dance Theater in the "Year of the Wyklętych 2019": Katarzyna Raduszynska, theater director, actress and playwright, Artur Bienkowski, dancer, choreographer and pedagogue, and set and costume designer Paweł Walicki.
The performance will be performed by the artists who are the winners of the competition.

We invite you to read the texts that followed the release of "The Promised Land".
.Katarzyna Raduszynska (script and direction) and Artur Bienkowski (choreography) told the story of a cursed planet, the Earth. Cursed by the people who inhabit it. The topic, in the face of the environmental crisis, very timely.
.The end of the Earth is approaching

The show of the Polish Dance Theater is a voice on the biggest, too often ignored, problem of modern times. How can we forget that the environmental catastrophe already initiated in the industrial era threatens us today more than ever before? We dance like blind men dazzled by desires - we take everything we want, we don't think about the future, and we treat the world as an endless source of goods, resources and pleasures. This dance is the dance of death, a prelude to our own funeral. The final end, as the director of the show suggests, will be the result of hedonism, lust and debauchery of customs, which is also a form of violence.
