After Blois (France), Jakarta (Indonesia), San Cristóbal (Venezuela), Queensland (Australia), Beirut (Lebanon), Salt Lake City (USA), Quebec and Toronto (Canada) and many other cities in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, a choreographic film project by the Polish Dance Theater (PTT), directed by Iwona Pasinska, titled "The Greenery". "The Herbarium" will be presented in London.
This is one of the most prestigious and recognizable music and dance conservatories in the world, considered the best of the UK institutions offering studies in music and dance. It originated from the Laban Centre, a center of education and artistic experimentation founded in Manchester in 1948 by Rudolf von Laban, a pioneer of modern dance, dance theorist and creator of kinetography, a system of movement notation. You can study both music and contemporary dance here - so the university opens up a common space for training, collaboration, stage presentations and conducting research and creative experimentation at the intersection of music and dance.
Let's remind you that "Herbarium" is available free of charge on the VIMEO AND YOU TUBE channels of the Polish Dance Theater. Since its premiere in 2022, it has been showered with awards at competitions and festivals around the world. Among the 16 honors it has received in total are 5 Grand Prizes for Best Dance Film and 4 Audience Awards. So far in the UK, audiences of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival (York, UK, November 1-6, 2022) and the Leeds International Film Festival (November 3-17, 2022) have had the opportunity to see it. It has also been published - along with 5 other PTT film productions - on The Arts Channel's SVOD streaming platform in the UK - you can find artist statements, performances and documentaries, carefully selected by the curators with the British audience in mind.
