"Feminal" is a confrontational dance theater performance that explores how women's bodies are objectified. Through an engaging narrative, choreographed gestures and striking visuals, the performance reveals the impact of stereotypes, history and expectations on women.

About the performance of FEMINAL
.INITIAL DISSENT ("Initial Opposition")
.Solo was created as part of the larger "Sacral" project, which explores how women's bodies and sexuality are denigrated in conservative religious traditions, mythology and contemporary cultural tropes. "Initial Dissent" explores the difficult process of deconstructing the culture of female chastity in core belief systems.
A GIRL ("Girl")
.Overgeneralization is a human tendency, underlying "Feminal". One girl in red, dances on a narrow white floor, exposing herself to the insistent clichés of femininity that appear at every turn. Her voice rises to please, to protest, to reassure. The gestures are minimal but flirtatious, as if taken out of a catalog of male fantasy. While it might seem that this Girl is the center of attention, there is no doubt that the risk - of being noticed, of being hurt, of being shamed - also exists for those who sit in the dark and watch, projecting social demands and their expectations.
"Hoback is characterized by a unique and paradoxical elegance that is at once fluid and angular, refined and austere."
