Three distinct personalities, operating with different authorial techniques and styles, interpret Romania's theatrical and cultural legacy in diverse ways, combining music, dance and instrumental playing. From a contemporary point of view, they rediscover native traditions, challenging stereotypes that distort knowledge of their country of origin.
The first project of this scale to be carried out at the intersection of the Polish and Romanian dance scenes will bring closer the work of local choreographers, still too little known in Poland. The premiere of the performance will take place during the VI International Festival "1 Page - 1 Look - 180 Seconds".
The work on the performance will be performed by the Romanian choreographers.
The work on the performance was preceded by a series of workshops conducted by Romanian choreographers with the Polish Dance Theater Company. After the world premiere at the Polish Dance Theater in Poznan, "Toaca" will be presented in 2025 at theater and contemporary dance festivals in Romania.
The production will be presented at the Romanian Theatre and Dance Festival in 2025.
The Romania-Poland Cultural Season 2024-2025 is organized by the Romanian Ministry of Culture and the Romanian Cultural Institute, on the Romanian side, and by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Bucharest, on the Polish side.

The Polish Dance Theater has been carrying out an extremely intensive cooperation with Romania for several years now. After establishing cooperation with Teatrul de Balet Sibiu, it has already performed twice in Sibiu, presenting performances of "45" in 2019 and "Let the living bury the dead" in 2022. In 2023, we hosted Teatrul de Balet Sibiu in Poznań - during the 3rd International Festival of Dance Theaters "Borders of Nature - Borders of Culture" it twice presented the performance "One way ticket" choreographed by Sandra Mavhima. During the 5th International Festival "1 Page - 1 Look - 180 Seconds" we were visited by Tangaj Collective from Bucharest with the performance "BLOT - Body Line of Thought". Polish Dance Theater was also invited to participate in the International Theater Festival at the Regina Maria Theater in Oradea, where it presented a co-production with Bodytalk "Romeos&Julias unplagued. Traumstadt".
